Chris Farley

Chris Farley was a famous comedian and a great actor who belong to America. He worked with Chicago’s The Second City Theatre. He has also starred in a string of successful comedy films in the 1990s including Tommy Boy and Black Sheep before his death on December 18, 1997, in his Chicago apartment of cardiac arrest caused by a drug overdose.

After joining the cast of Saturday Night Live in 1991, Farley made memorable cameos in Wayne’s World and Billy Madison (who can forget that bus driver?) before breaking out with the surprise hit, Tommy Boy. The Racine Theatre Guild’s Comedy Tonight series continues Saturday, Nov. 6, with iO Theater, Chicago’s improv comedy, in “The Improvised Musical.” The show starts at 8 p.m. at the Theatre Guild, 2519 Northwestern Ave. “The Improvised Musical” features all of the elements of a Broadway musical: huge production numbers, larger-than-life characters, tight harmonies and dynamic choreography.

Chris Farley was simply a joy to watch on SNL and we believe this to be his finest moment. While several Matt Foley sketches exist, his classic motivational speech to Christina Applegate and David Spade stands alone as the finest.
