According to Us Magazine, Miley Cyrus had been planning on performing a Bret Michaels song at the American Music Awards this past Sunday night, however, she changed it at the last minute. After almost 40 years Dave Brinckerhoff and his childhood buddies are getting the band back together and, like Jake and Elwood from “The Blues Brothers,” they’re doing it for a good cause.

The concert will take place at the Westport Country Playhouse, 25 Powers Court, on Saturday, Nov. 20, at 7 p.m. and will also include other area musicians — To The Max, Christopher Robin and The Center Street Band. Also scheduled to appear are Daniela Cardillo and Holden Truelove. Doors will open at 6 p.m. for cocktails and a silent auction. All proceeds will go to St. Vincent ‘s Swim Across The Sound.

Cyrus recently covered “Every Rose Has its Thorn” on a recent album, and the ballad is from Poison — Michaels’ former band “For a while she’d been planning to do ‘Every Rose Has Its Thorn,’ but then a few days ago she switched it,” a source says.However, the song she chose, “Forgiveness and Love,” seems to be better suited for her current situation right now with her parents divorce.

But according to American gossip magazine Us, she had other things to think about that day, because she had to do a last minute song switch when her mum was accused of having an affair with country singer Bret Michaels. Miley had apparently been planning to sing Every Rose Has Its Thorn at the event, which was originally one of Bret’s most famous songs.
